Música!
A film by Rob Epstein, Jeffrey Friedman, Susan Fanshel
A string bass crafted in a workshop in lower Manhattan is carried by a group of volunteer musicians and instrument artisans to Havana, Cuba, and into the hands of a 16-year-old student named Lily.
Música! follows four gifted student jazz musicians in Cuba over the course of five years, as they develop from talented students to world-class musicians. Following them from music school to their first trip to the US, we see how music builds bridges and creates new opportunities for these young people, while giving them the skills and tools they will need to face the challenging future ahead.
Mùsica! is a joyous exploration of the power of music and the positive impact of cross-cultural exchange on young people’s lives.
